Recipe: Spicy Shrimp Tempura


We've had too many tempuras the past few months (probably enough til April) so my husband wasn't too excited to hear that I was preparing shrimp tempura.

The picture does not do the recipe justice. Working on the mayo made me swear never to make mayo from scratch ever again. When I finished the recipe, I promised never to speak too soon like that again and include this in my recipes-to-keep list. :)

  1. Yours look a tad different than ours. JZ didn't whisk our mayo well and I don't blame him. :p I saw it on Top Chef (a speed challenge) before how hard it was to make that hence I gave that task to him. :p

  2. the first mayo i made was too thin so I had to redo it. The second time, I read the instructions again and found out that the oil timing was off. I had to ask Peng to help me the second time cos both my arms were already sore!
